About me...

Along the winding trail to becoming a novelist, I have worked as a journalist, editor, school bus driver, fish processor, Good Humor (ice cream) girl, fishing boat first mate, and race horse hot walker, among other things.

I am also the author of
Passing It On: Voices from the Flathead Indian Reservation, published in 2008 by Salish Kootenai College Press (Pablo, Montana).

Just for fun, scroll down on this page for some amusing photos of me. Enjoy!

Here I am at 19 years old, the summer I worked in the Detroit suburbs as a Good Humor ice cream girl. I drove that truck around for long hours each day, but it was a good summer job.

A year later, I hit the road in my Volkswagen convertible. I cannot believe that was almost 50 years ago. Yikes!

Like my "poor woman's hot tub?" I sure do. What would I do without hot water in which to soak?

I have no idea.

"Make my day" rhinestone bandana look, for the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.
What a time, huh?

And, below, the neat Flamingo mask a friend made and gave me. Thanks, Pam!

Everyone, please stay well!

Last summer (2021) some wonderful women friends helped me celebrate turning 70.

We hung out in the refreshing, shady breezes next to
Flathead Lake and enjoyed a fantastic potluck meal.

Two of them surprised me
with birthday crowns, so I
was a double-crowned
Queen for a Day.

Like the song says, I get by
with a little help from my friends.
